Eleanor is here! Ruins!

We had a full day visiting the archaeological site here in Sirascusa with Byzantine caves and a Greek and a Roman theater; then ambled back to town  to immerse ourselves in the late afternoon life of the Piazza del Duomo.  An aperitif on our terrace ended a full and beautiful day.

not Sicily, but getting closer

Well, at least we're in Italy.  It's Rome for the night so we're taking advantage of this unexpected stopover and having a good dinner  and a quick walk to the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon (that's Jacq leaning on the pillar on the left), and the Piazza Navona.  It could be worse!  Do stay tuned.

nicht Sicily

this doesn't look like Sicily because it isn't.  we're not there.  we're in Germany because they cancelled our flight.  Maybe we'll be lucky and still make it in time to catch our flight to Sicily.......

arrivederci.........

early, early morning from bed

saying so long for a few weeks to the spring that's finally come;  to the lilacs, the house, the chandelier in the plum tree, and to my studio.
Stay tuned....next post will be from Sicily!

Mother's Day

Call me sentimental, but Mother's Day means very much to me.   And the adorable daughter and the adorable boyfriend made sure that their mothers had a special day.......

We were taken to a spectacular and divine lunch at the Oyster Bar on scenic Chuckanut Drive and then for a lazy drive into the beautiful farmland of the Skagit Valley.  The San Juan Islands in the background and the quirky little towns are magical.  Edison is the village pictured above.
